What we did

ASH undertook the assessment and prepared the subsequent LVIA chapter and appendices for the Environmental Statement. As part of this work ASH also prepared a wild land assessment of the potential impacts on the Talla - Hart Fell WLA and a visual residential amenity study.

ASH prepared the supporting wirelines and photomontages for the LVIA, demonstrating the potential landscape and visual impacts  from a number of viewpoints. ASH also prepared the supporting visualisations for the cultural heritage assessment.

A Cumulative Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment was carried out which considered the potential impact of the proposed turbines when viewed in combination with other significant wind farm sites in the area including application, consented and operational sites.

The planning application for Whitelaw Brae Wind Farm was  submitted to the Scottish Ministers in January 2015. Planning permission was granted in December 2017.
